WW2 US Navy Musician CPO Chief Petty Officer White Twill Badge
Early WW2 CPO badge…(Eagle Faces towards the Chest, when seen on the right shoulder)
Item is used, uniform removed. The Badge has the maker mark on the Chevron on the reverse side, “Liona”– Lion Brothers, Baltimore, MD. (pre-war Lion Brothers badges had the Liona on both sides of the V of the chevron (one is mirrored – reversed)
Chevrons are made of black twill , eagle and symbol are navy black vertical thread stitch.
Chief Petty Officers badges were worn on the right sleeve, this particular badge while worn on the right shoulder, the eagle is faced towards the chest of the officer. This is an early WW2 example, before the Navy changed the Eagle to face Right.
