Ozzy Osbourne – Live at Rock In Rio 1985
(Import with Japanese liner notes)
The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne—one of metal’s most iconic figures—launched his solo career after parting ways with Black Sabbath, forging a legendary legacy that includes discovering and showcasing world-class guitarists like Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee. After revealing his battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, Ozzy made a triumphant return with the acclaimed Patient Number 9 in 2022, and even hinted at further live activity in 2023.
This live album documents Ozzy at the height of his solo success during the Bark At The Moon Tour, supporting his 1983 hit album Bark At The Moon. The tour spanned 138 shows and culminated with a headlining performance at Rock In Rio on January 19, 1985—a monumental event broadcast by MTV.
Backed by a powerhouse lineup—Jake E. Lee on guitar, Bob Daisley on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums, and Don Airey on keys—Ozzy delivered a ferocious set packed with solo classics and Sabbath-era anthems. Jake E. Lee’s flashy and inventive playing is a standout, bringing a unique edge to the performance.
This album is sourced from the original broadcast audio and includes the full set with encore—an electrifying performance that captures Ozzy and his band in full command of the stadium stage. A must-have for Ozzy devotees and classic heavy metal collectors alike.
