Product Description:
This elegant, compact teapot from Kutani Ware Sakai Hyakkaen features a traditional hand-painted Mokubei design of playful Chinese children (Karako) and embodies both charm and versatility for brewing tea or herbal infusions.

One of the key highlights is the underside of the lid, which is adorned with a miniature hand-painted Uchide no Kozuchi—a “lucky mallet,” said to bring good fortune. The bottom of the teapot features an underglaze painting (ura-e), allowing you to enjoy the artwork even when turned upside down for drying.

The spout design makes for smooth pouring, while the form is easy to wash—perfect for daily use or for gifting. A specially processed smooth base prevents scratches on your table.

Highlights:

Traditional Kutani ware teapot with original hand-painted design

Lucky mallet (Uchide no Kozuchi) motif on the inner lid for good fortune

Ura-e (hidden artwork) painting on the base

Carefully painted foot ring—industry-first, not suitable for mass production

Not dishwasher or microwave safe (due to delicate artwork)

Ideal for green tea, black tea, or herbal infusions
