Rare Live Archive Featuring Ray Gillen (1986) + Bonus Tracks from Ozzy Osbourne's Live Aid Performance – Japanese Edition
Black Sabbath – one of the most iconic and influential bands in the heavy metal scene – has remained active for over half a century, led by legendary guitarist Tony Iommi. After countless lineup changes, they continue to influence generations of metal and hard rock bands. A final concert with the original members is scheduled for July 2025, making this release all the more timely.
This rare live archive captures the band during a unique period in 1986. After Ian Gillan's departure, the band faced uncertainty before releasing Seventh Star. For this North American and UK tour, vocalist Ray Gillen joined the lineup.
The April 18, 1986 performance in San Antonio, Texas, was recorded and broadcast by U.S. PBS Radio for promotional purposes. This release includes seven carefully selected tracks from that show. Since Ray Gillen never released a full studio album with Black Sabbath, this live performance is a valuable glimpse into his time with the band.
As a bonus, the album includes three tracks from the legendary Live Aid performance featuring Ozzy Osbourne.
