A pair of maps, one showing the eastern hemisphere, the other the western hemisphere. In both sheets the hemispheres are surrounded by paste-down text panels and framed by a meticulously designed baroque border.

Geographically, the eastern hemisphere features a very approximate delineation of Australia. In the western hemisphere the American Northwest is somewhat speculative, showing the routes of Russian voyages of exploration.

The border, adorned with elaborate swirls, flourishes and intricate motifs of geographical instruments (compasses, astrolabes and maps). Cherubic figures, charmingly engaged in crafting spheres and models, add a whimsical touch to the composition.
