1932 student's handwritten Notebook - Biology - Manor High School PA
Rare to find a surviving handwritten notebook from the 1930's post-depression era. This is from a student named Robert Miller from Conestoga, PA. The school was Manor High School (now called Penn Manor High) in PA. Note there is wear at some page ends where it's in the ring binder - see close up photos.
All handwritten, various biology related topics and very detailed, with some really nice drawings as well. Wow, you can see that even though this was 100 years ago, they really prepared students quite well in science and biology back in those days!
Example of some of the topics:
Apple tree seedling
Adaptation of the human hand
Physical and chemical change
Oxygen
Carbon
Nitrogen
Osmosis
Cells and the composition
House fly
June bugs
Honey bees
Fish
Frogs
Balanced Diet
Blood corpuscles and blood
Skin
Nerve tissue
Liberation of gases
Digestion
Lots more, that is a sample
Thanks for bidding and have a great day!!
