Highly decorative celestial chart of the Solar System based on the Copernican model, from Doppelmayr's 'Atlas Coelestis in quo Mundus Spectabilis et in Eodem'.

At its center, a radiant sunburst displays the solar system with planets and their moons orbiting the sun, surrounded by zodiacal figures symbolizing the cosmos.

The top left features a comparison of the relative sizes of the sun and planets, while the bottom left illustrates the path of the 1706 solar eclipse over a polar-projection map that includes the Island of California.

On the right, a striking engraving compares the Ptolemaic, Tychonis, and Copernican systems, presented by Urania, the muse of astronomy.
The Copernican model is emphasized as sic ratione ("according to reason"), symbolizing the progress of astronomical thought.

The entire chart is richly framed with celestial imagery, including putti, stars, planets, and scientific instruments.
