You will be walking in an unknown mixed city!
Even I, who moved to Tokyo at the age of 21 and lived here for 60 years, have not yet grasped the true nature of this city. Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Ueno, Asakusa, Ginza, etc. form a unique and distinctive city. In this book, I have included a view of the streets of modern Tokyo as I saw them from my own perspective, after wandering through the alleys in pursuit of the thrill I felt that day. If anyone tours this city with this book and a camera in hand, I hope you will take pictures from your own perspective and as your interest leads you.

Daido MORIYAMA
Born in Ikeda City, Osaka in 1938. After working as a graphic designer, he became an assistant to photographers Takeji Iwamiya and Eikoh Hosoe, and became independent in 1964, publishing the photo collections "Nippon Gekijo Shashincho" in 1968 and "Shashin yo sayonara" in 1972. His radical expressions, characterized by rough grains, blurred focus, and tilted compositions with no viewfinder, shook the photographic world. His reputation has spread to the art world at home and abroad, and large-scale exhibitions of his work have been held in many countries around the world.
