This is an original antique (late 19th century) solid walnut wall mount shaving mirror with wall pocket and two taper candle holders. The fame features leaf decorations at the top corners and recessed panels on each side consisting of a contoured gold painted border with red velvet in the middle. The wall pocket has a leaf pattern spoon carved across the front. The candle holders would hold small taper candles, no more than 7/8" in diameter at the bottom. The holders might also be useful for holding shavers.
Condition is excellent. This piece appears to have been refinished at some point, and the mirror and velvet have been replaced. However, the original square nail construction is evident so the frame is original. One of the turned finials is missing from the bottom of a candle holder, and there are a few small chips in the wood elsewhere, but nothing noticeable. The entire piece is sturdy, solid, and fully functional. The mirror is mint.
Outer dimensions are 16 1/2" W x 3" D x 18" H. There is a wire hanger on the back for wall mounting. This item will be packed securely and fully insured during shipping.
