Tools Required:

• Masking tape

• Spray bottle

• Joy, Ivory, or dishwashing liquid

• Tape measure

• Squeegee (or credit card)

Step 1: Prepare the Area

• Use masking tape to mark the exact position where you want to place the decal. For designs with drop-down letters, remove tape in those areas.

Step 2: Create a Soapy Solution

• Mix 20 drops of Joy (or other dishwashing liquid) with 1 pint of water in your spray bottle. Spray this solution on the designated surface for your decal.

Step 3: Prepare the Decal

• Peel away the waxed paper backing while ensuring the decal adheres to the clear application tape (premask). Spray the solution onto the back of the decal as well.

Step 4: Position the Decal

• While the area is still wet, carefully position the decal in the desired spot. The soapy water allows you to slide the graphic into place for precise alignment.

Step 5: Secure the Decal

• Use your hand to gently rub the decal's surface. Follow up with a squeegee or credit card to remove excess water and air bubbles. Repeat this step multiple times for optimal adhesion.

Step 6: Drying Process

• Allow the decal to dry completely. Drying times may vary depending on temperature and humidity:

  • 80°F (27°C): ~30 minutes

  • 70°F (21°C): ~3 hours

  • 50°F (10°C): ~4-6 hours

Step 7: Peel Off the Application Tape

• Once fully dry, slowly peel back the pre-mask tape. If the decal doesn't adhere, repeat the squeegee process and allow additional drying time.
