YAMAHA YA-48 Accordion 34 keys 48 basses Musical Instrument Black Working Used

Description

Since this is a used item, there are some minor scratches and scuffs from normal use, but there are no noticeable major scratches or stains.

The exterior has no noticeable scratches, and the overall finish is glossy and clean. The bass belt is in good condition, and the side straps are also clean. The plastic padding on the shoulder strap had some cracking, so I applied felt over it. The bellows are perfectly airtight. The keyboard and bass buttons move smoothly, and the tone switches work without any issues.
Dimensions: 48 cm in width

Regarding the sound, there were initially some buzzing and tapping noises. After disassembly, I found that Yamaha uses thin plastic springs to prevent deformation of the pallet leathers, but these had warped and were no longer effective. I removed the plastic springs and replaced them with stainless steel springs. In addition, since springs were originally installed only on the low register, I added them to the middle register as well. I also corrected and adjusted several pallet leathers that were significantly deformed.

Furthermore, instruments of this class generally have greater variation in beat frequency compared to higher-end models, even when new. This unit had eight reeds with excessively low beat frequencies. Although still playable, I was not satisfied, so I performed tuning by carefully filing the reed tips to shift the vibration frequency by a few hertz. As a result, the overall beat sound became cleaner, and the instrument now plays pleasantly. However, it does not reach the performance level of high-end models in terms of timbre, resonance, pitch stability, beat consistency, and response uniformity.

Please note: There is one location where the body-connecting pin does not go fully to the base when pushed in. Forcing it may cause damage, so I have left it as is.

Included item: main unit only.
