Beautifully modeled and highly detailed consisting of (17) pieces. The tallest pieces being approximately 3-1/4" in height and the widest being 4" which is the couple with the lady sitting on the settee. all market Volkstedt and 1 also 1762. No Plaque
***Mostly in beautiful condition with some minor imperfections for the age. Missing Flute, 1 violinists have a missing bow and finger and 1 violin missing the scroll tip. The purple coat gent missing fingers. Minor flea bites on lace with closer look.

In 1852 Adolph Menzel painted his famous painting "The Flute Concerto in Sanssouci", The modulation of the musical soiree in porcelain was made by the Thuringian porcelain manufactory Älteste Volksstedt, (17 pieces) twelve figures, 1 piano and 4 music stands. So everyone is gathered around Frederick the Great. His favorite sister Wilhelmine, in whose honor the concert took place and who makes herself comfortable on the sofa in a wide dress, is represented, as is the clever Princess Anna Amalie. Other attendees include Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Franz Benda, Countess Sophie Caroline von Camas, Isak Francais Egmont von Chasot, Wilhelmine Margravine of Bayreuth, Count Gustav Adolf von Gotter, Jacob Friedrich Bielfeld, Carl Friedrich Grau, Pierre Louis Moreau deMaupertuis, as well as chamber musicians and ladies-in-waiting. You almost want to hear the cheerful flute sounds echoing through the hall again. Even the notes can be seen.
