This etching, by the Italian engraver and etcher Giuseppe Longhi, reproduces a work by the Dutch master of chiaroscuro, Rembrandt van Rijn. The original painting traveled to France in the 18th century and gained fast fame, which resulted in the production of this popular print. In the collections of the British Museum; Science History Institute, Philadelphia, PA; Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Buffalo, NY; Philadelphia Museum of Art, and others.
