GENERAL PLANT INFORMATION

Euphorbia tirucalli 'Rosea' Euphorbia tirucalli is a large succulent tree or shrub, popular in desert gardens around the world. Although normally green, the orange/red form known as Firesticks is the most popular, turning vibrant orange in winter.


GENERAL CARE

These water wise, fast and easy growing plants will definitely dazzle your garden in no time. Plant them in your favourite pots, cheeky containers or even in vintage cane basket till your heart's content. Most succulent loves to sunbath all morning and their natural colours will intensify, they don't mind to stay in partly shady, well lit location all day too. They are amazingly tough, hardy and can tolerant lesser caring for you to enjoy them even more. Please note that cuttings are sent on availabilities of plants at the time of purchase, some varieties may or may not be available. Our photos are used as guides for what cuttings may look like.

SOIL MIX TIP

Succulents love being in well drained soil mixed.

Below is our recommended mixture and watering:-

50% part of potting mix (non fancy)

25% part perlite*

25% part sand and/or pea gravel

Find a bright location where there is morning sun, this is great for enhancing vibrant colours. Too much afternoon sun can burn them especially in summer in QLD.

Water once every third day in summer or once a week during winter.

Must let soil dry up for 2-3 days between watering is ideal.

PLANTING CUTTINGS TIP

Mix perlite and sand into dry soil and fill container 80-90%.

Place cuttings upright into mixed soil.

Sprinkled a bit more soil to fill the pot and ensure cuttings can stand up.

DO NOT WATER FOR 1 WEEK.

Place container in shade and bright area.

Spray generous water after 1 week and slowly move container closer to morning sun every day.

Cuttings will start to root from 2-4 weeks, some might take a little longer than others but be patient as these succulents are self-sustainable and can take care of themselves for longer period.

Eventually, move them into individual containers to suit your desires.
