This is a CAST IRON MONKEY BANK by B&P.

You can fit a coin in the monkey's mouth and manually move him up the tree. His head will then move forward and deposit the coin into the top of the tree, Then you can let him go and it slides down.

Originally, there was a spring attached to the monkey that allowed it to travel up the tree when pushed down. However, the spring has come loose from the bottom of the monkey (see last photo) and no longer works, even when reattached because the spring is no longer tight on the bottom. Perhaps someone more mechanically-inclined can repair it. Or, you can just use it manually which is still lots of fun. 

It is 8.5" tall and 4.5" wide at the bottom.

This particular bank rarely comes to market and it is a great conversation piece.

It has a removable plastic stopper to on the bottom.

It is in Excellent condition, cosmetically.
