Up for your consideration is this stunning Victorian etched floral eight ruffled glass lamp shade originally for an oil lamp c: 1890-1900. The color is a beautiful rich red, which I would characterize as more of a ruby red than a cranberry. I believe the flowers shown in the etched pattern are honeysuckle. The band of ribbing adds an unusual element to the shade.
Measurements:
8 3/4" Diam x 4" T Fitting: 3 7/8"
Condition:
Good antique condition with a couple flea bites/rough spots that may be manufacturing flaws on the fitting side. The ruffled rim feels smooth. There are multiple individual bubbles in the glass as is typical in old glass. Photos show a most of these. Note: There are some brown spots shown on one of the photos that I had missed and subsequently caught and cleaned. Otherwise, normal wear for age. Please see all photos.
Shipping:
I generally don't ship parcel post or first class due to the nature of the items I sell. Let me know if an exception should be made for this item and we can discuss. Also, this particular item needs a decent amount of padding. If you are concerned about the shipping cost, please reach out and I may be able to make some other adjustments. For example I could waive the rural pickup fee by holding the package a few days until my next trip into town.
