These Apple Brand Antennas are used with the A115 Bluetooth modules/cards in G5 AGP Towers for bluetooth networking and to use along with the various Apple bluetooth keyboards and mice. Since the Macs Aluminum Case is pretty much just a Large Grounded RF-Block, you'll get the best reception if you can arrange things so the antenna (or back of the Mac) has an imaginary "Line-Of-Site" perpendicular to the antennas length (G5 facing sideways) to wherever you plan to use the mouse and keyboard the most. These are supposed to allow keyboards/mice to be used within 32 feet (but that number must assume a perfect frictionless universe). They're generally Pretty-Good/OK "LINE OF SIGHT" up to about HALF that distance, maybe 14 to 16 feet.
When installing the Antenna, it's Fairly Important to make sure you start it out Lined-Up Straight into the port (Perpendicular to the back of machine). There's a Very Small/Delicate Pin Sticking-Out in the center of the port, which needs to Slide-Into a Sleeve/Hole in the center of the Antennas' Connector. If you get the Antenna started onto the Port at a bit too much of an Angle, the little-pin in the G5s Port can contact with the white-plastic around the Antennas' center-sleeve, so instead of the pin going into the sleeve (as you push antenna into port) it can-be bent/pushed off to one side.
