This is an antique Japanese  woodblock print from the late Edo Era (c.1820) by the Japanese artist, Utagawa Kunisada.  It depicts the Kabuki actor, Shijaku Iwai .  It has the  Kiwami censors seal (see photo 6)

Having been stored in a well protected environment for over 200 years,  it  remains in very fine condition. It  measures 10 1/8" wide by 14 3/4 " tall (26 x 37.5 cm).

It is interesting to note that the kanji on the large red lantern is "Plum" and the name of the character being portrayed is named, Kohiru (little plum blossom?)  Also to the left is plum tree in blossom.
