Latest technologies
The media player includes many of the latest technologies: AV1 video codec, VP9 profile 2 video codec, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Dolby MAT. Many other media players do not have some or all of these technologies.
Official Google Android TV and Netflix certificates
Google and Netflix certifications guarantee excellent support for the maximum number of streaming video services with the highest possible sound and video quality and the most stable and smooth operation of the media player. Netflix certification allows you to use the world's most advanced video service in maximum quality (4K Dolby Vision and Atmos) (by installing a VPN application on the media player in those regions where it is required). Official Google Android TV certification ensures excellent compatibility with all Android TV applications and features, and also provides the functionality of the built-in Chromecast.
Dune HD Media Center
In addition to the standard Android TV features, you can also use the Dune HD media center software, technically implemented as the Dune HD OS, running in parallel (in a special virtual container) on the Linux platform and easily accessible through a special program. This software provides functionality similar to regular Dune HD media players. Advanced file browser, advanced file player, full Blu-ray menu support, advanced Dolby Vision file playback support, the ability to view your local video library in the form of a beautiful Netflix-style catalog, the Dune Control mobile application, smart home integration capabilities and many other features.
Powerful iron
The media player has powerful hardware for maximum performance: 4 GB RAM, 32 GB flash memory, 1 Gbit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), USB 3.0, Bluetooth 5.0 (and comes with a Bluetooth remote control with microphone). Many other media players with official Android TV have weaker hardware (for example: 2 times less RAM, slow or no Ethernet, old Wi-Fi standard, no USB ports).
S905X4-K media processor with full set of licenses
The S905X4-K media processor is the most advanced version of the latest media processor from Amlogic, which includes all possible technologies and licenses: Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS. Most other media players based on the S905X4 use a stripped-down version without all or some of these licenses.

Dolby Vision and HDR10+
The media player supports not only conventional HDR technology, but also the latest and most advanced Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technologies. In conventional HDR technology, the brightness range is determined at the beginning of the movie and does not change throughout the movie, so completely dark and completely bright scenes may lack detail. In the latest Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technologies, the brightness range can change from frame to frame, so maximum picture detail is provided even in scenes that contain only dark or bright elements.
USB 3.0 port
Allows you to connect USB storage devices (such as a flash drive, hard drive or SSD) and provides fast data transfer and smooth playback of high-bitrate video. Connected USB storage devices can also be accessed from a local network using the SMB file server built into Dune HD Media Center.
Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos is the most widely used advanced surround sound technology. Dolby Atmos immerses you in the very depths of sound so you hear more and feel more, for a more realistic and immersive sound. The media player supports Dolby Atmos sound both when watching streaming services such as Netlix and when playing files from your local library (in formats such as ISO, BDMV, MKV, etc.).
Latest Dolby MAT technology
The media player includes Dolby's latest multi-channel surround sound technology - Dolby MAT. Using Dolby MAT technology, the media player not only outputs the fantastic Dolby Atmos sound to your TV or A/V receiver, but also performs partial audio decoding directly on the media player. This improves audio/video synchronization, reduces latency, and improves compatibility. This approach to audio output is currently recommended by industry leaders such as Netflix and Google.
AV1 video codec
The media player supports the latest AV1 video codec, which helps improve video quality by up to 50% without increasing the video bitrate (or requiring up to 50% less bitrate for the same video quality). This new video codec is already used by YouTube and will be increasingly important for a variety of services. Many other media players do not support this new video codec.
YouTube 4K HDR and VP9 Profile 2
The media player supports the modern VP9 profile 2 video codec, which is used by YouTube for 4K HDR content. Many other media players do not support this video codec and therefore do not support 4K HDR on YouTube.
Built-in Bluetooth 5.0
The built-in Bluetooth interface of the modern version 5.0 allows you to easily connect various remote controls, wireless keyboards, mice, joysticks, audio speakers, headphones, headsets and other devices.
Bluetooth remote with microphone, customizable button and IR control
The remote controls the media player via Bluetooth (this means that it is not necessary to point the remote at the media player and that the media player can be hidden, for example, behind the TV). The built-in microphone provides a voice search function. A special button can be configured to quickly launch any program. In addition, the remote can use the IR channel to control the TV and A/V receivers.
IR control
The media player has a built-in infrared receiver and can also be controlled by infrared commands (Google IR codes). This means that you can use third-party programmable or remote controls to control the media player or integrate the media player with your smart home via the IR port. For example, you can integrate the media player with a smart speaker (e.g. Yandex Station) by connecting an IR emitter to the smart speaker.
Chromecast built-in
The media player includes Chromecast built-in functionality, which allows you to cast content and applications from your phone, tablet or laptop directly to your TV. This technology can be used on both Android and iOS devices (via the Google Home app), as well as on any laptop or PC (via the Chrome web browser).
Widevine Level 1 DRM support
Support for the most advanced level (L1) of Widevine DRM video content protection technology allows you to watch high-definition videos when using premium online video services. Many premium video services limit video quality or do not work without such support. Most Android TV set-top boxes do not have such support.

The media player uses the modern version of Android TV 11. This provides better support for the latest Android applications.

Film cataloger and film encyclopedia
The "My Collection" feature organizes the user's movie collection into a beautiful catalog. The extensive movie encyclopedia contains information on hundreds of thousands of movies with detailed descriptions, posters, cross-references between movies and characters, trailers, direct links to online video services, etc. The advanced file browser automatically recognizes movies and displays their descriptions.
Broadest support for Dolby Vision file formats
Dolby Vision is supported when playing all popular file formats (BDMV, BD ISO, MKV, MP4, TS, M2TS). All popular Dolby Vision profiles (P5, P7 MEL and FEL, P8) are supported. In all cases, important Dolby Vision information (Dolby Vision RPU methods) is extracted and transmitted to the TV to ensure proper Dolby Vision display on the TV.

The Dune HD media center supports playback of full Blu-ray images in maximum quality (including support for BDMV, BD ISO, BD4K, BD-Java, branching, obfuscated playlists). When playing Blu-Ray images, both a simplified “Lite” menu and a full Blu-Ray menu with the ability to select scenes and additional materials are available.

Unlike other media players, Dune HD media players contain the most complete Blu-ray playback engine, which includes 100% full support for seamless branching of video fragments. This ensures smooth movie playback without micro-stutters.
Dune HD Android Playback Accelerator Technology
Unique to Dune HD media players, the technology intelligently manages Android OS resources to minimize the impact of the OS on the player engine and ensure smooth and high-quality video and audio playback.
Automatic frame rate/resolution switching
Dune HD Media Center can automatically switch the output frame rate and resolution according to the content being played. This helps ensure smooth video playback and uses the optimal method of video resolution increase (upscaling by the media player or TV). Dune HD Media Center implements an advanced approach to video mode switching that bypasses the limitations of Android TV 11 (many other media players using Android TV 11 cannot support automatic frame rate/resolution switching at all due to these limitations).
Flicker-free frame rate/resolution switching
Dune HD Media Center implements its own advanced flicker-free approach to automatic frame rate and resolution switching, which switches the video mode before the file starts playing (not after). Many other media players switch the video mode after the file starts playing, which causes annoying flickering.
Dolby and DTS audio formats
The Dune HD media center can play Dolby and DTS audio tracks in all formats (up to Dolby TrueHD with Atmos and DTS X). All formats can be output as multi-channel audio (output in formats up to 7.1 PCM, Dolby TrueHD with Atmos and DTS). All formats can also be output as stereo (downmixing).
Multichannel music in advanced formats
You can play music in various advanced formats, including multi-channel SACD (DSD), FLAC, WavPack, APE, ALAC. SACD (DSD) music files are supported in all popular formats (ISO, DFF, DSF), including DST compression. Multi-channel DSD files and other formats can be output to HDMI as multi-channel PCM.
Dune HD Linux-based operating system
The Dune HD Media Center runs on the Linux-based Dune HD OS, which runs in a special virtual container alongside Android. This Linux-based OS helps ensure stable operation and smooth playback.
Dune HD Ecosystem
Dune HD Media Center provides SDKs and APIs, which third-party vendors and the user community use to create applications, plug-ins, extensions, GUI themes, movie collection management solutions, and home automation integrations.
Dune HD mobile app
The unique Dune HD mobile application (Dune Control) for iOS and Android mobile devices provides full access to all the functions of the Dune HD media center. It replaces the standard infrared remote control, allows you to view and select media content directly on your mobile device (the menu displayed on the mobile device reflects the menu displayed on the TV screen), and includes a "Now Playing" section for convenient playback control.
Parental control
The Dune HD media center has built-in parental control functionality. You can use it to block access to the entire media player (including all Android TV apps) on a schedule (or, for example, allow your child to use the media player only from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM).
Smart home
The Dune HD media center provides a powerful IP control interface and has many options for integration with smart home and home automation systems such as Control4 and Crestron.
Built-in file server
The Dune HD media center has a built-in SMB file server. The content of drives connected to the player and the player's internal memory is available on PCs and other devices on the local network via the SMB protocol.
Note: To use the Dune HD media center features, you must install the app. The app is under development. Some of these features will be available in future versions of the app.
