These Turf cards were packed with cigarettes and came as part of the packaging.  The 'slide' was the part that held the cigarettes in place and slid from its outer sleeve.  Turf cards were printed on the slide in a blue ink as shown.  It is usual for the cards to be cut out of the slide by collectors although some do get found as uncut as a complete slide.
