Mary Vernon (1820-1885) was a well noted English 19th century painter of flowers. The painting depicts red, pink and white roses and their stems on a brown moss covered ground. The painting was apparently re-lined many years ago and has areas of tight crackelure. Overall it is in very good condition.  A similar painting sold at Christies South Kensington for $5,086.
