Hello from Kanton at The Twisted Starfish and Company! We have a VERY unique item for our Lottery Collectors and / or folks who love to collect UNICORN things because what we have for you today is Unobtanium. To wit:

8 Sealed Books (Packs) of Scratcher Tickets from the VERY FIRST California Lottery to Game 8. These are unscratched and unmolested and going on 40 years old! 

These are beyond RARE and may well be the only survivors in existence. The California Lottery has very tight security and was even more so at the initial launch. First year tickets did not leave the building until packs were assigned to the vendors for sale to the general public. These test runs would be verified, certified for production and subsequently destroyed. They are the rarest of the rare.

No other similar offerings have been found on ANY platform, auction house or website. Ever.

These tickets were created just prior to the launch as part of the Quality Assurance and Security Test Runs between the newly formed State Lottery and the producer of the tickets, Scientific Games. Most every book of these 'SV' tickets produced for test runs was broken open and scrutinized under strict security and testing conditions. Once testing and verification was completed, the test tickets were DESTROYED. Except these. Survivors. You'll look for years and NEVER find a collection such as this. These have been locked in a vault for over 40 years.

We have left the pack sealed and do not know how many are in the book however standard runs should be 250 - 500 tickets for $1.00 games. It is a full pack just like the retailer would have received and offered for sale; usually one ticket at a time vs selling the entire unopened book as well have here. 

We have a one book for every new game for the first year, 1985/1986. This auction is for the first games 'Pot of Gold' to Game 8. (8 packs total representing games 1 - 8)

The tickets are marked on the reverse as VOID since they were never intended to be sold.  The front of the tickets, as seen in the pictures, is the same as the production version sold by retailers upon launch. These CANNOT be redeemed as a 'winner' given their VOID status not to mention being 40 years old. They can be scratched off if you like; personally we have left them alone because of how unique and rare this is. 

THIS IS ABOUT AS RARE AS IT GETS. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER CALIFORNIA PACK OF UNSCRATCHED TICKETS ANYWHERE. WE'VE LOOKED. THESE ARE VERY LIKELY THE ONLY ONES THAT EXIST AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
These are serious unicorn material.
