HERE ARE THE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO ACHIEVING THE CORRECT SIZE CABLE Step 1, Removing the original handle and cable:- Remove the recliner handle by unscrewing the fixings found behind the latch using a screw driver Pull out the recliner handle and rotate it to expose the cable attachment and unclip the cable from the handle keeping any parts you remove safe Next carefully turn the recliner forward and over to view the underside of the recliner Locate the PVC casing of the cable and pull it out and let it hang Locate the retaining clip situated in the recliner mechanism and using a pair of long nose pliers pinch the clip to remove and finally unhook the 'S' hook end from the release lever arm and remove completely from the recliner Step 2, Measuring the cable:- 1, Pull the inner metal wire completely out of the outer tube (Sheath) & measure the whole wire length including the hook end through to the broken end 2, Measure the outer PVC casing (Sheath) including the retaining clip and collar at each end 3, Subtract measurement 2 from 1 to give you a size that matches as near as possible to one of our cable sizes 4, Note your measurement can be +/- 4mm different to our advertised size & it will still fit 5, Place your order through our eBay page NOTE:- If you are not 100% sure of the correct size to order please contact our support team through the eBay page before purchase, we are always happy to answer any questions & help with your purchase from Furniture Spares Direct. Once your order is placed with our store, our team we will process your order at our Queensland warehouse in accordance with the eBay guidelines and dispatched via Australia post Once you receive the order and checked the contents begin to install the replacement cable as follows Connect the cable into the rear of the handle by first placing the steel barrel into the hole and feed the steel wire through the groove and click the metal collar into the handle guide and if available reconnect the retaining clip over the cable collar to further secure the cable into position (Not all handles have retaining clips) Next feed the hook end of the cable into the arm hole in the recliner directing the cable down towards the floor Reattach the handle into the arm hole ad secure with the original screws Carefully turn over the recliner in the forward position exposing the recliner mechanism Locate the hook end of the wire Next connect the black plastic retaining clip into the available mechanism slot listing for a 'click' sound to confirm connection Then connect the S hook into the release leaver hole (If more than one hole available on the release lever arm use the hole which provide a snug tension on the exposed wire) Finally turn the recliner back over and test handle for correct operation.
