I have acquired an extensive collection of books, classical and operatic sheet music and opera scores from the estate of noted opera historian and musicologist, Michael Kaye. This is a wonderful item. It is a First Edition, First Issue of "Les Pecheurs De Perles (The Pearl Fishers), Opera en 3 Actes, by G. Bizet. Piano and vocal score.  Published by Choudens, Editeur, Paris, 1863. Plate #992. There are indentations in all margins. This is the earliest edition of this score containing publisher mis-pagination (1-88, then 85-211). Bound in full black leather with facsimile of Bizet's signature on the front cover. Gilt page edges all around. Shows wear to corners and spine. Wear and leather loss to spine ends. Shows intermittent page darkening in spots. Otherwise, a clean, unmarked copy that I will call Very Good. Book measures 7 3/8 X 11, 211 pages.
