1850'S ANTIQUE UNION AMBROTYPE PHOTOGRAPH CASE SAMUEL PECK - REBEKAH AT THE WELL
A Union Ambrotype case by Samuel Peck & Co. USA. This design is known as Rebekah at the Well, with the subject moulded in deep relief on both sides.
In very good and above average condition for a thermoplastic case, just minor fritting to the edges (see photos). The sixth plate mat and protector is present with glass, in very good condition. Lid missing its fabric lining. Catch and hinges all fine. Uncleaned or polished as found.
Case 9.5cm x 8.5cm. approx.
