Programming Requirements

 ATTENTION!

 Please Note:  There is another remote that will fit 2 of the vehicles listed.  The other remote is a ""Smart Key"" and is a remote-key combination part.  In addition, the Mazda 6 was sometimes equipped with a fifth door or ""Hatch.""  If you have a fifth door (hatch) on your vehicle then you require a different remote.

 Please check the FCC ID #  & PART # on your current remote (if available) and make sure they look alike.

2004 RX-8's use a separate remote for later production vehicles.  It is important to check the production date of your 2004 RX-8 before ordering a remote.

 If your RX-8 was manufactured before July in 2004, then you need: FCC ID KPU41805 Model # 41848

 If your rx-8 was manufactured after July 2004, then you need: FCC ID kpu41805 Model # 41805

 PLEASE NOTE : THIS IS KPU41805

Programming instructions:

 1. Open driver’s door and leave open.

 2. Lock and Unlock the driver’s door using the power lock switch on door panel.

 3. Insert key into the ignition.

 4. Turn key to the ON and OFF position 3 times in 10 seconds. Leave key in ignition.

 5. Open and close driver’s door 3 times ending with door in the open position.

 6. Door locks should respond by locking and unlocking.

 7. Press any button on remote 2 times. Doors should then lock and unlock.

 8. If programming a second remote press any button onit 2 times and door locks should lock and unlock.

 9. Remove key from ignition and locks should lock and unlock again.

10. Test Remotes

Remote Control Functions:

To lock doors: Press button (4); pressing again within 5 seconds causes doors to re lock and horn to beep.

To unlock: Press (5) for driver’s door; press again within 5 seconds to unlock other doors.

To open trunk: Press (3) Panic alarm: Press (2); horn sounds &

turn signals flash; to stop, press (2) again or turn ignition to ON position If trunk fails to open: See Trunk Tab, then Remote trunk-lid release lock-out.
