If you have brake ABS light on and get Error code C1391 then you need to replace this part . Brake bleeding and linear valve programming will be needed after replacing this part

To carry a smooth process of brake bleeding take out both electric plugs of your ABS electric motor ( do not unplug the ecm connector if your ecm is located near The ABS actuator ) . 2008 highlander hybrid do not have ecm near the ABS actuator .

Bleed all six lines that goes on top of this part . Then bleed front two wheels . Then before bleeding both rear wheels , put both the electric connectors back on to the electric motor pump of ABS and then bleed both the rear wheels.

Brake bleeding process is done . Now you need to program the linear valve solenoid . For that you will need Toyota tech stream software . Connect the J2534 cable to your car and and open Toyota Techstream software

Next go to ABS/Brake / VSC see if you have any error code that say “ linear valve programming not done “ if you have this error go to Utility on your left. If you don’t see any error then you might not need that programming .

In utility go to reset memory and reset YAW sensor and linear valve Memory .

Next go ECB and select linear valve solenoid and follow the instructions . Timer will start of 120 seconds

While doing the programming if your ABS and check brake light stops blinking in the middle of the process while your timer in the laptop is still running then it means you have bad ABS actuator or you have not done the bleeding process correctly .
