Spectacular Royal flowers (petula) pattern, hand- woven plant based dye ikat from East Sumba, Indonesia. Circa 2014. Very fine weave, light organic cotton. Exceptional quality!
 
Handwomen Single ikat made of 100% cotton and dyed with local plants and minerals (Indigo, Kombu). Colors are orange, red, natural and indigo blue. Midfield with motif lobeng, inspired by a type of ancient batik from Java called kain gringsing, similar to that found on Balinese geringsing pat likur isi. The size is 280cmX 70cm ikat. It took aroud 15 month to make.
All process was made by one woman, included harvesting plants, dyeing process, creating ikat pattern, weaving and preserving with natural oils. Wall hanging decoration with tribal pattern, very unique collectible textile.
