An antique English, solid 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning brooch, with a domed glass and hair memento topped with an ornate obelisk, with the initials SC to the plinth. The back engraved Sarah Clutterbuck, Obt. 25 Jan 1827.
A lovely little example - very collectable!
CONDITION: All original and generally very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Contents a little displaced, easily improved by a delicate and steady hand.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1827. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: 29 x 15 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
WEIGHT: Approx. 3.6 grams.
