Juneau, capital of Alaska. Located on the Gastineau Channel. Juneau is in the Tongass National Forest, adjoining the Chilkat Range. Gold was discovered in the late 1800's & Juneau grew as more mines opened. Many mine shafts were dug in the mountain pictured here behind the downtown area.
