Mid-century casserole bowl with removable lid made by towle. Marked Sterling and 226 underneath the lid. Has a plastic handle and a ceramic base. Ceramic is unmarked on the bottom and black in color. Attributed to the artist Marion Anderson Noyes. A very similar bowl is actually in the Brooklyn Museum under "casserole". Lid definitely has some swirling all over it and could use a new polish unless you like the patina of course. The ceramic is in great shape don't see any chips or cracks. Overall everything is in good shape just need some minor cleaning.
