Wonderful and beautiful vintage deco style 10K Gold filled Hamilton Foster Tank watch (for men or women).   It was originally marketed as a men's watch but could be worn by either gender.   It is in very good condition.  The Foster model uses the 752 movement with 17 jewels and was made in the early 1950s (there was another Foster model from the 1930s, but that is a different model).   The Foster came in a 10K yellow gold filled case and the sterling silver dial has solid 18K gold numerals.  The Foster is unusual in that the case has "hidden" lugs so one doesn't see how the strap attaches.  With its tank shaped gold filled case, stylized raised Arabic numerals, “petite seconde” dial, and a khaki colored leather strap, the classic Hamilton Foster is perfect for the Great Gatsby look of a by-gone era.   Its timeless subtle and elegant beauty will look great for any one wanting to add vintage swagger to their style.  

It was serviced a few years ago, so has a new sculpted acrylic crystal, khaki colored leather band, and new hands.  It works fine and runs well.  It is in very good condition with a few scratches to the case.  Please refer to the photos for cosmetic condition.

Note:  please refer to photo where it is compared to an American quarter for sizing.  Note that it was a trend during that era for men to wear watches that were more snug and streamlined (i.e. smaller) than the contemporary trend for oversized watches.  So please pay attention carefully to its size for your own particular wrist.  My wrist which models the watch is smaller than usual (for reference).

Hamilton:  Founded in 1892 as an American firm, the Hamilton Watch Company ended American manufacture in 1969. Later would merge and become integrated into the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch manufacturing and marketing conglomerate.  Hamilton is a storied and historic watch brand when it comes to time keeping.

Some celebrities wear Hamilton:  Bradley Cooper wears a vintage Hamilton in Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley.  And a Hamilton Watch is featured in the new Indiana Jones Movie, The Dial of Destiny, with Harrison Ford wearing one.
