She was built by Flensburger Schiffbau in Flensburg in 1896 and launched as the BHANDARA for Hamburg-Calcutta.

Purchaed by HAPAG and renamed AMBRIA IN 1897.

Her length was 404' and beam was 50'. 5,463 GT ship.

In 1915 seized by Italy at Syracuse and in 1916 renamed PIETRO MARONCELLI.

May 39, 1918 torpedoed and sunk by submarine near Alghero, Sardinia.
