A beautiful and unusual Victorian era snuff bottle.
Likely produced for the tourist market, it is made from papier mache and lacquered in a rich inky Black with shell inlay.
The shell inlay adds beautiful rainbow highlights.
The snuff bottle has a spoon integral to the stopper and also lacquered in black.
A very nice addition to the collection.
Unmarked, late 19th century.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some marks and little areas of wear.
