“Disease“ is Minusheart’s first album. Minusheart is a project of Diver and Benden which they formed in 2007. Right from the start they knew that their music would be based on electronic sounds, emotional vocals and with a tendency to unusual melodies and unusual song structures that remind you of Nitzer Ebb or Skinny Puppy.

On the CD you can find songs that could be played in the clubs (e.g. “Icehouse“; “Don’t Feed The Cats“) as well as darker songs like “Future Lies“ which is is as intense as the other songs of the album. Especially this song reminds you of the classic industrial bands like Shock Therapy. “Burning Star“,which is also the last song of the regular album, is a beautifully written melancholic electro-industrial-pop song and it is the perfect conclusion for the album.

The two musicians create a special sound that plays with the classic elements of electro and EBM music and always up to date. Minusheart’s sound is pumping through the speakers with a lot of power and with all these detailed elements that make this album very unique. Dirk “Accessory“ Steyer’s mastering makes Minusheart sound that powerful. He is also responsible for the amazing sound quality that the album has.

The four bonus remixes on the album are from Fragment Machinery, Accessory, Config.Sys and Momolith. The remixes are an excellent addition to the album which already is excellent itself. They showhow much potential is in the songs, e.g. “icehouse“ is a good example for more atmospheric industrial music or “Feel No Pain“ and “Livespan“ they can easily fill the dancefloor in every EBM club.

Mit „Disease“ legen Diver und Benden die Debüt-CD ihres ersten gemeinsamen Projektes vor, welches im Jahr 2007 gegründet wurde. Von Beginn an basiert der Klang von Minusheart auf elektronischen Sounds, emotionalem Gesang und einem Hang zu ungewöhnli-chen Melodien und Songstrukturen, die nicht selten eine Referenz zu Bands wie Nitzer Ebb oder Skinny Puppy erkennen lassen.

So finden sich auf „Disease“ sowohl szene-clubtaugliche Titel wie „Icehouse“ oder „Don’t Feed The Cats“ wie auch düstere aber nicht minder treibende Songs wie „Future Lies“ wieder, die nicht umsonst an die bedrückende At-mosphäre einzelner Songs der Kult-Band Shock Therapy erinnern. Mit „Burning Star“ ist der Band zudem ein wun-derschön melancholischer Elektro-Industrial-Pop Song gelungen, der auch den logischen Abschluss des regulären Albums bildet.

Dabei bedienen sich die beiden Musiker eines Sounds, der gekonnt mit klassischen Elektro-EBM-Elementen spielt, jedoch immer aktuell, kraftvoll und mit vielen kleinen Details versehen, durch die Lautsprecher brettert. Nicht zuletzt das druckvolle Mastering von Dirk „Accessory“ Steyer, der auch einen Remix zum Album beisteuerte, ist für die klangliche Qualität des Albums verantwortlich.

Die vier Bonus-Remixe des Albums aus der Hand von „Fragment Machinery“, „Accessory“, „Config.Sys“ und „Monolith“ bilden eine gelungene Ergänzung, und zeigen das Potential der Songs in Bezug auf atmosphärischen Industrial („Icehouse“) sowie krachendem Club-EBM („Feel No Pain“, „Lifespan“).
