Gegründet 1998 in Thessaloniki, haben sich Emerald Sun seither durch zahllose Live-Shows zu einem gefragten Act auf den europäischen Bühnen entwickelt. Sie spielten auf renommierten Festivals wie z.B. March Metal Day, Metal Healing, Maximum Rock Fest gemeinsam mit großen Namen wie Saxon, Edguy, Sabbaton, Grim Reaper und vielen anderen. Im Jahr 2007 wurde ihr erstes Album „Escape from Twighlight“ veröffentlicht, das später auch noch in Japan mit Bonusmaterial auf den Markt kam. Das zweite Album „Regeneration“ folgte 2011.
Den Sound von EMERALD SUN kann man als klassischen Heavy Metal/Power Metal beschreiben, der aber durchaus einen typisch griechischen Einfluss nicht verleugnen kann.
2015 bringt der Band nun ihre bereits dritte Albumveröffentlichung. „Metal Dome“ wird europaweit erscheinen und von einer ausgiebigen Support-Tour sowie Festival-Shows begleitet werden.
Eines der absoluten Highlights des Albums ist ein Duett mit Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes, Theatre of Tragedy) beim Song “Call Of Nature“.

Formed in 1998, in Thessaloniki, Greece, EMERALD SUN have since then performed live numerous shows becoming an extremely sought-after live act. Past performances included their participation at festivals such as March Metal Day, Metal Healing, Maximum Rock Fest and others. They shared the stage with big names such as Saxon, Edguy, Sabbaton, Grim Reaper and many more. The band’s excellent two demos led to the release of their first full length in 2007 (“Escape from Twilight”) which was later released in Japan with exclusive bonus material. The second album, “Regeneration” was released in February 2011.
The sound of EMERALD SUN can be described as classic Heavy Metal/Power Metal combined with new influences and a typical Greek approach.
2015 sees the bands third album “METAL DOME” that will be released throughout Europe, followed by an extensive support-/club tour and festival shows.
One of the highlights on the album is a duet with Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes, Theatre of Tragedy) on the song “Call Of Nature“.
