The Transition Networks UD2100002-01 UDS2100 2-Port Device Server - International is designed to seamlessly connect, manage, and control equipment with a serial port over Ethernet or the Internet. It offers a quick, simple, and cost-effective solution for extending remote management and control to equipment that is not currently network-connected.

Featuring two serial ports, this device server allows for the easy addition of two pieces of equipment to an Ethernet network in just minutes. It utilizes serial tunneling technology to encapsulate serial data into packets and transport it over Ethernet, enabling transparent communication with attached equipment and software without the need for any changes in the existing setup.

The built-in web server enables users to access and configure the UDS2100 using a standard web browser. With Lantronix development tools, users can customize the device server for unique applications by building web pages. The on-board Flash memory provides room for future system software upgrades and maintenance-free, nonvolatile web page storage.

Setting up the UDS2100 is easy and can be done locally through its serial port or remotely using Telnet or a web browser. The included DeviceInstaller Windows-based configuration software simplifies the setup process and allows for various configuration tasks such as assigning IP addresses, loading custom web pages, enabling web-based configuration, and upgrading firmware.

Additionally, the UDS2100 can be used as a modem replacement by accepting modem AT commands on the serial port and establishing network connections to end devices, eliminating the need for dedicated modems and phone lines.

With TruPort technology, Windows-based applications can access and control the UDS2100 serial ports as if they were local PC serial ports. This allows for total Com port control, including monitoring and setting hardware pins on the UDS2100 serial ports, and accessing serial buffers for seamless remote monitoring and control of devices around the world.
