SILVA 55-6400/360 military compass - southern hemisphere (MS) model, 5 year warranty. 

The SILVA 55 military compass features graduations in Mils*, an optical sighting system and the SILVA 1-2-3 system in the same unit.

The compass has a luminous graduation ring and markings for use in the dark, which when activated by daylight/flashlight will give up to 4 hours of luminescence. 

The capsule is marked with 6400 mils on the graduation ring and 6400 mils + 360 degrees on the sighting scale.

*Graduations in Mils (Milliradians): 
Mils compasses are divided into 6400 divisions rather than the standard 360 degrees. Mils compasses are largely used by the military for calculation of range and scale – for example two objects that appear to be 100 mils apart and are 1000 metres away from the observer are around 100 metres apart on the ground.


 *When purchasing a compass for use in Australia or New Zealand, make sure the compass is zoned MS for the magnetic south region - if not zoned MS the needle may stick, making the compass unreliable. 

Returns Policy: 
 If you are not happy with your item please return it in original condition in the original packaging (as new) within 30 days. The cost of return postage is to be paid by the buyer. Any postage and packaging costs incurred by the seller will not be refunded - this also applies to "free postage" items. 
Payments will be refunded by the same method as the payment was made. 
A restocking fee may apply if returned items are deemed not to be in original condition.
