This antique dough trough, with a charming reddish finish, may be nicely repurposed as a coffee table with the simple addition of a glass top. The trough measures 17 inches high, 39 inches wide, and 21 inches deep. Its style is naive and primitive, perfect for a country or rustic decor. The trough is believed to have originated in the US Northeast in 1865, making it an authentic antique piece. It has natural wood worm holes, an antique worn paint on the outside which at one time may have been red. There is an area (see last picture) underneath where the legs attach that has wood loss but seems stable now. The material used is wood, which gives it a solid and sturdy feel. This unique furniture item is perfect for collectors of antiques and primitives.
