This is the best of French porcelain. Limoges was the epicenter of the revolution in European porcelain. Once Europeans had the formulas for Asian porcelain they wasted no time in production of high quality porcelain to compete. My research on porcelain marks indicate manufacturing between 1890-1902, one site even suggested 1840_1860. Enhance your dining experience with this exquisite 21 piece antique china dinner set by J. Pouyot from Limoges, France. Set includes four round dinner plates, bowls, cups and saucers, all adorned with a beautiful floral pattern (roses, peonies?) in shades of pink. There is a fifth plate, cup and saucer if you're not serving fruit or soup bringing your brunch count to 5. No two are completely alike because of hand painting. The wreath porcelain mark designates it was painted in house by Jean Pouyat employees. The set also includes a gravy/sauce bowl and small oval platter. The plates have a diameter of 9.5". Bowls are 7" and shallow (@2"), saucers @ 5 1/4". There are gilt edges on the cup handles and platter that show normal wear from use. One edge of one saucer has a very small chip on the underside. See pictures. Whether you want a unique brunch set, or need to recreate/add to a full dining set, this is an opportunity to own a unique piece of history, these will never be made again and harder and harder to find. Packed with care and insured. I strive to ensure you receive these amazing items undamaged.
