One of my more interesting finds it's this pair of appearingly pewter chalice cups/ wine glasses. Tested for silver and it wasn't so I imagine it's pewter and it's quite soft. The cups are in good shape. The bases are bent out of shape but can be remolded to be more even. Just need a little cleaning on one of the inside of the cups. The other one looks pretty clean. Both cups are inscribed and reads to the best if my ability as such. 1 cup says
" to my wife Nellie ? Mills"
"By ? Ned"
"Feb 11 1871"
"Man is what his wife makes him"
The other cup reads.
" Nellie I am to love ? my name
That not the ? All ? ?"
Otherwise, these are great pieces with an interesting story. I wish I could find out more about them. For someone that can fix them up a little bit. These would be great pieces.
