This listing is for an upgraded British made SIDESTAND and mounting Kit, to fit the 1971-77 Norton Commando models. The OEM part # for the stand is 06-5490.  Listed in 1972 onward Commando Parts books. The steel stand, stainless spring, sleeve and rubber stop are Made In England. The mounting bolt hardware is all US made.  For 1971 please read the note below. 

 This is a heavy duty well-made British unit. Parts for this kit are manufactured in England and the USA. They are all corrosion resistant. Different years use different part numbers, email with your year of Commando if you are unsure of fitment.

(1) 06-3324 OEM Rubber Stop (England)

(2) 60-2332 washers (USA). 

The bolt is Grade 8 alloy steel with a tensile strength of 150,000 lbs. psi and Rockwell hardness of L33.  Both the bolt and the washers are zinc yellow chromate plated, to resist corrosion.

 NOTE: Some 1971 Commando "prop" (side stands) used a peg welded to the frame prop stand tab as a pivot point. This was the 1970 Commando design. The stand was held on by a washer and circlip. This was prone to falling off.  In 1972 the bolt and nut configuration replaced the peg design on all Commandos from 1972-77.    We have 1971 Commandos; one has the bolt design.  It remains unknown if a previous owner, dealership or factory staff ground off the peg.   Drilled the frame tab or welded a new side stand mount to fit the upgraded bolt design.  If you have a 1971 Commando with the peg design and do not want to modify the mount, we will substitute the bolt hardware with the original spring, washer and circlip found on a 1971 Commando.  Just email us.
