Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA or PVOH) is a non-toxic, colorless, and odorless biodegradable polymer used extensively as an emulsion polymerization aid, a binder for pigments in paper applications, and a thickener / stabilizer in coatings and adhesives etc. PVA is mostly characterized by its hydrolysis level, the degrees of polymerization (viscosity), and the particle size.
