This linocut design was inspired by the shapes and angles in the courtyard garden of a friend. I have also produced colour prints of this design (please see separate listings) using two further blocks, but expert opinion of this artwork is that because it was designed for black and white, it works best in black and white. What do you think?
This item is an original signed linocut print 'A Claremont Garden' from a limited edition of 50 in black on white paper. Hand printed by the artist (not a reproduction) using artists' quality oil-based ink on high quality acid-free Zerkall 210 gsm printing paper. The image size is 17cm (almost 7") square and the paper size is approximately 25 cm (10") square, as trimmed to fit the mount (details below).
The print is sold unframed, for ease and economy of shipping. However, it is despatched in a commercially manufactured 10 x 10" mount set which comprises a mitre-cut mount (in soft white), backing board and cellophane bag. So not only is it all ready to present as a gift (if that is your plan with it) but the mount set, together with the other robust packaging, protects the print during shipping. The mount set can be discarded, if you have other plans for framing the print.
Please note that as this is hand printed by the artist, each item is unique and may contain minor flaws, but that is part of the charm of a linocut print. Despatched in a reinforced envelope in the UK with tracked postage. Also despatched to other destinations - please see delivery details.
