Some investigation into this model told Mishimoto that enthusiasts are seeing elevated oil temperatures during track driving conditions.
Mishimoto set out to create a replacement, high-performance oil cooler that could handle the rigors of extreme driving conditions and the abuse of daily commuting. The Mishimoto S63 M5/M6 oil cooler features extremely precise CNC-machined billet-aluminum end tanks which are professionally TIG-welded to a robust bar-and-plate core. The strategically designed 55mm-thick core provides a massive 24% increase in core volume, and a 40% increase in external fin surface area. This added surface area promotes greater heat transfer, which directly impacts internal fluid temperatures. The performance oil cooler is a complete bolt-on solution that includes everything needed for an easy installation such as hardware and replacement O-rings for the oil lines. The heat exchanger is finished in a durable silver powder coat, providing both corrosion resistance and improved aesthetics. Whether your M5 sees frequent track time or just the occasional back-road jaunt, upgrading the oil cooler is a great way to extend the life of your S63 and ensure maximum engine output when you need it most.
