C'est un dispositif basé sur un processeur PIC 16F628A (Microchip) qui agit comme un filtre numérique ou un convertisseur d'instructions ECM entre un appareil et une carte SmartCard de norme ISO 7816 ¹. Selon le programme chargé dans le microcontrôleur, l'interface peut fonctionner comme un bloqueur en bloquant certaines instructions et commandes tout en laissant passer les autres ².
Selon le programme téléchargé sur le microcontrôleur, l’interface peut fonctionner comme suit :
- bloqueur - blocage des instructions et commandes sélectionnées tout en passant les instructions restantes
- Convertisseur ECM - conversion des commandes d’un système en un autre.
Le PIC 16F628A est programmable par un programmateurs du type :JDM ISO, JDM ISO Auto, Multiprog ou Multiprog PLUS ou compatible (Le PIC n’est pas programmé par défaut).

Depending on the program downloaded to the microcontroller, the interface may operate as follows:
- blocker - blocking selected instructions and commands while passing remaining instructions
- ECM converter - converting commands from one system to another.
The PIC 16F628A is programmable by a programmer of the type:JDM ISO, JDM ISO Auto, Multiprog or Multiprog PLUS or compatible (The PIC is not programmed by default).
