Vintage Signed Hand Carved Wooden Eagle with Native American Trench Art Necklace
This was originally purchased in Philadelphia, PA area from a collector.
We were told this solid wood eagle was hand crafted by a Native American artist (initials on the base are either “nd” or “pu”), and that the brass necklace was Native American brass trench art. The eagle and trench art necklace were sold to us as a pair, with the necklace placed around the neck of the eagle. We have always left it like this, and are selling these two pieces together.
Regarding the eagle, there is some natural variation in the color of the wood, with the base and the head of the eagle being a bit darker than the main body. Please note that there is a tiny crack in the front center near the base (see photos).
Otherwise, this eagle is in excellent vintage condition.
Dimensions and weight of eagle:
25” tall x 7” deep x 8 1/2” wide
10.6 pounds
The trench art brass necklace is of a Native American figure, and hangs approximately 20” in length on a very soft leather “cording”. There is no signature on the figure, and we are unsure if the same person made both the eagle and the necklace.
The brass figure measures 1 3/4” long x 1 1/4” wide x 3/4” deep.
It is in excellent condition with a small amount of tarnish.
