Where a projecting load is carried or a projecting special appliance is permanently fitted to a vehicle, red and white marker boards conforming to the requirements as prescribed in schedule 12, Part 11 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations must be fitted to the vehicle or load.

- Finish - 900gsm PVC
- Fitted with an 18mm diameter stainless steel eyelet in each corner for attachment by ropes or magnets (separately available)
- 100mm wide white screen printed diagonal stripes at 45 deg
- Each side is not less than 610mm long
Loads projecting over 2m to the front or 3m to the rear must also have side markers fitted to either side of the projection.
Front and rear projection markers must:
- be as near as is practicable in a transverse plane
- not be more than 0.5m from the extreme end of the projecting load
- not be more than 2.5m from the road surface
- be clearly visible, within a reasonable distance, to a person using the road.
