This infrared obstacle avoidance sensor detects objects within 2 to 30 cm by emitting and receiving infrared signals. It features an adjustable detection range, works on 3.3V to 5V, and outputs a digital low signal when an obstacle is detected. Easy to use and reliable, it’s ideal for robotics and line-tracking applications.

If you're looking for better line follower sensor, TCRT5000 are more tuned for line follower robots, but this allow more adjustable mounting location due to led can be adjusted to different angle.

Additional Information:

When the module detects an obstacle in front of the signal, the green indicator lights on the board level, while the OUT port sustained low signal output, the module detects the distance 2 ~ 30cm, detection angle 35 °, the distance can detect potential is adjusted clockwise adjustment potentiometer, detects the distance increases; counterclockwise adjustment potentiometer, reducing detection distance.
The sensor module output port OUT port can be directly connected to the microcontroller IO can also directly drive a 5V relay; Connection: VCC-VCC; GND-GND; OUT-IO
