Silvertone 2224 8 AM SW 8 Transistor radio.

Pure history for the collector 61 years old

Has couple of cracks but not bad repaired top cannot really see

Interesting radio sold for 47.95 in 1961 Sears catalogue that is 474.96 USD today.

Repaired new caps new antenna

We usually do not touch transistor AM radios

But this is unique I assume from capacitors late 50s early 60s due to no FM

It has HF bands from 2-18 mhz

And AM .550-1.6 MHZ

They were made for Sears and would look cool as a big brother to small AM transistors

It is a simple design but works great all switches solid made with quality parts in the day

Love the way they put schematics on the back

Battery compartment clean no corrosion just very minimal oxidation…. Unseen in these radios
